When do you train?

  • Sundays, 11am-1pm
  • Tuesdays, 8pm-10pm
We also have strength and conditioning (S+C) sessions weekly which are yet to be announced.

I've never played rugby before, can I still join?

Of course! Many girls join that have never picked up a rugby ball yet absolutely thrive on the pitch and we also have girls that have played from a very young age, so all skill levels are welcome.

How much does the club membership cost?

A semester membership costs £21 whilst a full season's membership costs £42.
As well as this, AU membership costs £35 which allows you to play for the university and also gives insurance to individuals as players.

What equipment do I need to play rugby?

All we ask is for players to have a pair of rugby boots and a gum shield to aid against injury.

Is there a typical type of body shape/height needed to play rugby?

No, we have players ranging from 5'2" to 6'1" and positions on the team to suit all body shapes and skill sets so anyone is welcome to try out.

Is rugby really dangerous?

Rugby is a very physical sport but bad injuries are rare. We strive to make sure that everyone is fully equipped to complete all game plays safely and successfully during training.

Are there other opportunities to improve my skils outside training sesions?

There are touch rugby sessions that run most Thursday evenings from 7-8pm and many of our girls have found that these sessions were good for improving ball handling skills and other techniques.
As well as this, many of our members would be more than happy to help individuals understand more about the game, so don't be afraid to ask!
